Shop Longwood Wanderings
A collection of observations gathered through exploration and repeated walks among conservatories, gardens, water, and trees.
Among Conservatories and Gardens
The area around Philadelphia and Southeastern Pennsylvania is known for its remarkable gardens, but I find myself returning to Longwood Gardens again and again.
I've visited in every season and continue to discover something new each time I walk its conservatories, gardens, and wooded paths. There are grand displays, certainly, but also quiet moments waiting to be noticed — reflections in water, a single leaf, an unexpected flower, or the changing quality of light through glass.
This collection gathers together observations made during those visits to Longwood and the surrounding area. With it, I pay tribute to places that continues to reward careful attention.
A large, striking, matures tree stands in Morris Arbortetum. This photograph highlights the tree's thick, expansive limbs, weathered bark, and exposed roots, revealing the sculptural beauty that develops through decades of growth. The sweeping branches and deeply rooted trunk evoke a sense of strength, resilience, and quiet permanence, inviting viewers to consider the enduring character of the natural world.
Each print is produced in my studio using archival inks on premium giclée paper, preserving the color and detail of the original watercolor painting.
