Creating Collections
When I first began adding work to my shop, I organized it in very straightforward ways: birds, botanicals, landscapes, photography.
However, I began noticing relationships that didn't fit neatly into those categories.
Some pieces shared a place, others shared a season or a timeframe, and some just carried the same mood or sense of discovery.
The work inspired by Longwood Gardens, for example, felt less like individual images and more like pieces of a longer walk over many years. The Princeton pieces often shared a quieter, more everyday feeling — observations gathered while moving through familiar places and routines.
Eventually I realized that some work made sense together.
Not necessarily because the actual subjects matched, but because the feeling or sense of the works matched.
This realization led me to create collections.
Admitted, it took more website learning than I expected, but I’m happy with the results. The collections feel less like categories and a bit more like places visitors can wander.
I hope you decide to take a look and enjoy the experience.
