House sparrows are so common that they often disappear into the background of everyday life, yet their warm colors and bold personalities reward those who take the time to notice them.
Inspired by ever-present, ever-busy sparrows, this watercolor painting imagines a small moment of curiosity and pause. A familiar bird is perched on the edge of a vintage Japanese teacup — a cherished gift brought to me from New York. The composition brings together two ordinary objects in a new way to quietly invite observation.
Each print is produced in my studio using archival inks on premium giclée paper, preserving the color and detail of the original watercolor painting.
