This Crimson Queen in Indigo Card Set features reproductions of my original cyanotype artwork based on a potted laceleaf Japanese maple growing in my garden. The delicate branching structure of the leaves appears in pale blue-white against a rich indigo background, capturing the airy elegance and intricate texture of the tree’s finely divided foliage.
After printing, I individually hand-paint the stems on each card using gold watercolor, adding warmth, contrast, and a subtle reflective quality that makes every card slightly unique. Each card is also stamped with my artist’s mark on the back.
Each folded card is individually printed in my Princeton, New Jersey studio on high-quality 60 lb. matte paper, preserving the fine detail and tonal richness of the original cyanotype process.
